Little Narrows, Cape Breton, BBQ

The Little Narrows Community Association held its annual Barbeque last Saturday. We enjoyed it very much. There was roast pig and beef, vegetables, fruit and chocolate cake. A band played all afternoon and there was lots of light hearted conversation. Antique cars were displayed and there was entertainment for the children.
Special thanks to the many Matheson, MacIver, MacKenzie and MacAulay friends that once again made it a fun event.

New Door for Pottery Studio

Our carpenters Jim and Dave took out the big metal doors in my pottery studio and put in a wonderful glass sliding door that gives me lots of natural light and a view of the Cove.

Vegetable Garden

This is the first year we had a vegetable garden. We have both really enjoyed the entire process of digging, planting and seeing the vegetables grow. Garth had to put a fence around it to keep out the rabbits but the toads are still inside helping to keep the insects under control. I'm trying to go organic. Our friend George gave us lots of tomato, broccoli, cabbage and green pepper plants. Today at noon we will have a salad made almost entirely of produce from our garden.

One More Horse

I just had to put up one more horse picture. We don't have too much company arrive on horse back. A cousin, Donald MacIver used to keep the neck of the Point fenced off so he could keep his two work horses and his cattle in here. They roamed free on the Point all spring and summer. We had to put a fence up around the house to keep them off the lawn.

Bailey

Bailey, our Golden Retriever, is nearly fourteen years old. He is still as beautiful as ever in every way.
